Where do I even begin? I just checked your youtube account to be sure, but the fact surprised me: It's been 11 years since your first episode. 11 Years ago, I was 6 years old. It wasn't until I was the perky age of 7 years when I was given my first desktop, courtesy of my father. The internet was a magical experience to me, and I can't remember when I discovered youtube for the first time. All of my siblings were into the Zelda series, and as the youngest, I picked up interest in the series too.
I would surf youtube in all of the hours I had, and due to some magical, chance encounter, I saw the thumbnail for your Four Swords Misadventures one morning. Enthralled by the concept of Link splitting into four, not having learned of the games that inspired your parody, I eagerly sat and watched. And I laughed. And I laughed.
I remember eagerly waiting for new episodes, despite how long you have been running the series for, and I remember showing my annoyed sisters, and I cringe at the memory of showing my uninterested father. I would talk about it in elementary, I would tell any friends I managed to make. The seasons changed, the years passed. Interest simmered, but I never once forgot about you or your series. It was that sort of thing that stuck to me for so many years. A decade, even.
I'm now approaching my senior year of high school, and a future career in my grasp. I want to be an illustrator and animator after I am finished with art school. I hadn't really thought much about your work in the past months, but please know this.
Because of your abridged series, it sparked my passion for animation.
Because of your abridged series, I am here today, ten years into the future, coming to you to thank you.
I recently listened to your Endings Commentary video, and I re-experienced the magic that enthralled me as a young girl. While I may not have as many resources as I would like, and I may not have any true experience with animation (Though I did try several cracks at it Sophomore and Junior year, and my animations were praised as the best in the school, and my teacher himself commended me for surpassing him--I even have a Certificate of Recognition and a medal for Advanced Graphic Design.), I come to you interested in assisting you and your project--in any way I possibly can. I don't expect to be paid or rewarded for anything--in fact, I can sympathize with you and the fact that life comes first, and I'm very well acquainted with lack of money. This is something I wish to do for no personal gain, except for the experience.
Though, I completely understand if you have no interest--why bother asking a stranger whose work you've never seen? I'm not going to sugarcoat anything; I have no Flash experience, and I do not have access to Photoshop. However; I have a drawing tablet and I have experience with FireAlpaca, MSPaint, and despite not having it, I know how to use Photoshop. I also downloaded a program called Pencil, and you can use it to make animations, but I'm still learning the ins and outs of it.
But I digress. Whether you are interested in reaching out to me or not, that is up for you to decide. I came here to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your videos truly changed my life, and after seeing you finally release chips of Episode 10, I felt the desire to reach out and say thank you. Thank you for everything.
