Topic Advertisements. Options

Hello to everyone at Kuro-RPG. I hope you are enjoying your traditional rank-fests!

I need to bring up something which is starting to become a serious issue here. Though this only adheres to a handful of members who appear to be causing the problem, so if I post a general announcement about it, that should help to minimize the problem.

To put it mildly: We are seeing too many advertisement topics floating around in non-advertising sections of the forum and this NEEDS to stop. They are running interference and I choose to no longer tolerate such abuse.

We define an advertisement topic as a topic that was started for the explicit purpose of linking to off-sites to download something, access another forum, etc. Ultimately, those in charge will make the call on how a topic that includes a link at the start will be interpreted, but even with the tolerance we try to promote here, several topics have recently been flagged as being in the wrong section or have nothing to do with SIMMS, ranksets or Kuro-RPG affiliates.

We also need to keep in mind with this problem that Kuro-RPG is not a Trek or one Sci-Fi exclusive site/forum, but a rankset community site dedicated to ranksets from various media, including science fiction, world history, anime, and many other concepts. We are very open and tolerant in the Advertising section to SIMMS, even those not using Kuro-RPG sets, sites promoting various non-profit ideas, including hosting, graphics, libraries, etc. that are run or contributed to by those who post the links.

As a result of this, the current Global Moderators (Twan, Heyallo, and Trekkieandrea) will hereby be promoted to serve as Administrators as well, meaning anyone who is caught violating these rules will be subject to action at their (and my) discretion. If any of you would prefer to remain as only a Global Mod, you can let me know if you wish.

Violation of this can result in the following (and not necessarily in this order if the perpetrator has been previously flagged):

- Issued a warning.
- Account suspended.
- Account terminated.
